Spring Festival of Dance 2026

Coastal Dance Centre and Coastal Youth Ballet Theatre
cordially present

Spring Festival of Dance 2026

June 11–13 | Main Street Theatre, home of The Theatre of the Republic

Join Coastal Dance Centre and Coastal Youth Ballet Theatre for the annual Spring Festival of Dance, a joyful weekend celebrating the artistry, dedication, and growth of our dancers — from our youngest performers taking their first steps on stage to our advanced Conservatory, Elite Conservatory, and award-winning Competition Team dancers.

Recognized nationally for excellence in ballet training and dance education, and fresh off representing South Carolina as the only ballet studio from the state to compete at the 2026 Youth America Grand Prix Finals, Coastal Dance Centre returns to the Main Street Theatre stage for three days of inspiring performances featuring ballet, contemporary, jazz, tap, acro, lyrical, and more.

Known by many through our beloved annual production of The Nutcracker, CDC and CYBT are proud to share the year-round training, artistry, discipline, and heart that define our dancers.

This special festival includes Conservatory gala performances, Children’s Matinees, Competition Team and Elite Conservatory showcases, RAD examination recognition, and a continued celebration of Coastal Dance Centre’s collaboration with Coastal Youth Ballet Theatre.

Whether you are a longtime CDC family, a Nutcracker audience member, or discovering Coastal Dance Centre for the first time, we warmly invite you to experience a weekend filled with talent, creativity, discipline, and heart.

Performances include:
Thursday, June 11 at 7:00 PM – Opening Night Gala: Featuring our Conservatory Upper-Level and Adult Ballet Dancers

Friday, June 12 at 7:00 PM – Young Artists Gala: Featuring our Conservatory Lower-Level Dancers

Uniform and Dress Code

All Coastal Dance Centre dance classes have a specified uniform attire. Parents/guardians must purchase the required leotards with the Coastal Dance Centre logo at the Front Office. It is important for students to abide by a dress code policy for the following reasons:

● A neat and tidy appearance sets an attitude of attentiveness and respect for students, teachers, and the art of dance.
● Teachers must be able to see the dancer’s body outline clearly in order to make proper corrections on posture, alignment, etc.
● A uniform ensures that the dancer’s clothing is not a distraction during class which helps to keep the dancer more engaged.
● No costumes are allowed in class unless a dress-up day is announced by the teachers.
● Only small stud earrings are allowed; no loose nor dangling earrings; no necklaces nor bracelets.
● Hair must be properly secured and tied up off of the face and neck for all styles of dance.
GIRLS: Hair must be pulled back out of eyes into a neat and secure bun and secured tightly
with a hair net and bobby pins. Ponytails are acceptable in jazz and tap classes.
BOYS: Hair groomed and kept neatly out of the eyes.
● Older students are required to wear the proper undergarments (dance trunks, dance bras or
camisole-style leotards, dance belts) with the appropriate clothing designated for the class.
● No warm-up shirts, skirts, leg warmers, sweatpants, or shorts may be worn during class unless
prior approval is obtained from the teacher.
● When coming to and going from the studio, all students must wear outer clothing, i.e., pants, skirt,
sweater, over their dance attire.
● No dance shoes are to be worn outside of the studio under any condition.
● All clothing and shoes must be marked with the student’s full name.
● Dancewear is to be kept laundered and in good repair.
● If a Conservatory Student is enrolled in a recreational class program, they must purchase the
required recreational uniform and vice versa.
