Flamenco Workshop is Back!

We are excited to welcome back internationally renowned Flamenco dancer, teacher, and choreographer Ms. Irene Rodríguez for a special 4-day Flamenco Workshop for ages 7–17 and Adults, taking place June 29–July 2, at Coastal Dance Centre.

We would love to personally invite your dancer to join us for this unique opportunity.

Flamenco is a powerful and expressive dance form that builds musicality, rhythm, confidence, posture, and performance quality. Students will have the chance to explore the energy, elegance, and artistry of Flamenco while learning from a truly exceptional guest teacher.

Ms. Irene, originally from Cuba and now based in Tampa, Florida, has been a valued guest teacher and choreographer at Coastal Dance Centre for the past three summers. We are thrilled to have her return to share her artistry with our dancers once again.

Uniform and Dress Code

All Coastal Dance Centre dance classes have a specified uniform attire. Parents/guardians must purchase the required leotards with the Coastal Dance Centre logo at the Front Office. It is important for students to abide by a dress code policy for the following reasons:

● A neat and tidy appearance sets an attitude of attentiveness and respect for students, teachers, and the art of dance.
● Teachers must be able to see the dancer’s body outline clearly in order to make proper corrections on posture, alignment, etc.
● A uniform ensures that the dancer’s clothing is not a distraction during class which helps to keep the dancer more engaged.
● No costumes are allowed in class unless a dress-up day is announced by the teachers.
● Only small stud earrings are allowed; no loose nor dangling earrings; no necklaces nor bracelets.
● Hair must be properly secured and tied up off of the face and neck for all styles of dance.
GIRLS: Hair must be pulled back out of eyes into a neat and secure bun and secured tightly
with a hair net and bobby pins. Ponytails are acceptable in jazz and tap classes.
BOYS: Hair groomed and kept neatly out of the eyes.
● Older students are required to wear the proper undergarments (dance trunks, dance bras or
camisole-style leotards, dance belts) with the appropriate clothing designated for the class.
● No warm-up shirts, skirts, leg warmers, sweatpants, or shorts may be worn during class unless
prior approval is obtained from the teacher.
● When coming to and going from the studio, all students must wear outer clothing, i.e., pants, skirt,
sweater, over their dance attire.
● No dance shoes are to be worn outside of the studio under any condition.
● All clothing and shoes must be marked with the student’s full name.
● Dancewear is to be kept laundered and in good repair.
● If a Conservatory Student is enrolled in a recreational class program, they must purchase the
required recreational uniform and vice versa.
