Boys Scholarship Opportunity
Purpose: The Coastal Dance Centre Summer Training Boys Scholarship Opportunity provides talented young male dancers with an intensive training experience designed to enhance their dance skills, athleticism, and performance abilities over the summer months.
Who Can Apply:
- Boys aged 10–16 with a keen interest in dance.
- Previous dance experience is beneficial but not mandatory.
- All applicants should exhibit athletic potential, enthusiasm, and a strong commitment to learning.
Scholarship Benefits:
- Tuition-free participation in Coastal Dance Centre’s Summer Intensive Program.
- Training in multiple dance styles, including Ballet (required), Contemporary, Jazz, and Acro.
- Opportunities to perform and showcase learned skills at the conclusion of the intensive.
- Instruction from experienced, professional dance educators.
Scholarship Requirements:
To be considered for the scholarship, please complete the following steps:

Submit Your Application
Email the completed application form (Click to Download) and your essay to coastaldance@gmail.com by June 30 . -
Application Review
All submissions will be reviewed within one week of the deadline. -
Audition/Placement Class
If selected, you will be invited to attend an audition/placement class, tentatively scheduled between July 8–10.
Essay Guidelines:
- For Students
- Briefly introduce yourself and your background.
- Describe your interest and goals in dance.
- Explain how the scholarship would impact your training and goals for the summer
- For Parents
- Explain how your family will support your son’s participation.
- Share your commitment to fully engaging in the summer program.
- Discuss how dance fits into your family’s values, schedule, or lifestyle.
Submission Details:
- Essay must be 300 – 500 words for students
- Essay must be 600 – 800 words for parents
- Typed and double-spaced
- Use clear, readable font (e.g. Times New Roman or Arial, 12 pt)
- submit as a Word document
- Submit on or before Monday, June 30, 2025.
Audition Information:
- Audition details, including date and requirements, will be provided upon receipt of application.
Additional Opportunity:
Participation in the Summer Intensive serves as a prerequisite for consideration in the Coastal Dance Centre Year-Round Tuition Scholarship and potential membership in both the Elite Conservatory training program and the Coastal Youth Ballet Theatre performing company.
Successful Intensive participants will have the opportunity to formally apply for these elite training programs upon completion of the summer session.
