WHAT: “Spirit Saturday” Drive-By Parade
WHEN: Saturday, May 9th, at 4:00 pm
HOSTED by: Coastal Dance Centre
WHERE: At the Market Common, Myrtle Beach
Please come and join us at this event. We sure are missing our dancers and we cannot wait to engage with them at the studio when the time is right. We are looking forward to seeing you even for a brief while until we are able to get back at the studio again, hopefully soon!
In keeping with the Spirit Saturday theme, we ask that kids and parents dress up in Coastal Dance Centre t-shirts, jackets or anything festive, luau, Hawaiian, leis, or kids can even don their your old SFOD costumes!
Decorate your cars, make some banners (don’t forget to include your child’s name) – Be Creative! You can even bring your dogs and you can come up with signs reminding people to wash their hands and use face masks / coverings, observe social distancing, etc.
We ask that you start lining up at 3:45 pm in the 810 Billiards & Bowling at The Market Common. A lead car will wind down to the Coastal Dance Centre studios on Deville Street and Howard Avenue locations – and our teachers and staff will be lined up waving and cheering you on as you pass by in your cars during the parade.
Remember to Go Slow, Beep your horns, Show us your signs, Wave and show everyone that COASTAL DANCE CENTRE Family Spirit!
A few reminders from the Myrtle Beach Police Department and the Market Common Management:
- Please do not come out of your cars while the parade is going on!
- Also, please be careful of shoppers and pedestrians, obey the traffic rules.
- If a non-CDC car gets in the middle of our parade, that is fine. We cannot tie up traffic or block all the intersections. Let us show KINDNESS and COURTESY while having FUN!
CANNED GOODS DRIVE FOR HELP 4 KIDS:If you can bring 2 – 3, (…or more, if you wish!!) canned goods that we will donate to Help 4 Kids – we would appreciate it. You can drop it off at the Howard studio during the parade. (You do not have to come out of your cars. Please put the canned goods in plastic bags and one of the teachers or staff will collect it from you.) Donations will go to HELP 4 KIDS, who will in turn distribute it to the children of Horry County’s working poor. In our own little way, we feel it is important to support our community and those children being hit especially hard during these difficult times. |
After you pass the Howard Avenue studio, please feel free to leave the parade. There will be no need to gather back at the 810 Billiards and Bowling Center. We thank you in advance for coming!
NOTE:
If you can please let us know if you will participate, we would greatly appreciate it. This will give us an idea of how many cars to expect. Please email us back here at: info@coastaldancecentre.com.
We look forward to seeing you this Saturday!
