When to quarantine:
Quarantine required.
● At least 5 days since symptoms started (longer if symptoms persist) – AND-
● 24 hours since the last fever without using fever-reducing medication –AND-
● Symptoms are significantly improving (must have parent note confirming)
● Masks must be worn days 5-10.
● CLOSE CONTACT is defined as being within 6 feet for at least cumulative 15 minutes within 24 hours and if both individuals who were exposed and the one who tested positive were without masks.
● Quarantine is required for 10 days.
● Quarantine can END after Day 5 if a viral test is negative AND if no symptoms were reported during daily symptom monitoring.
● The test must be collected no sooner than Day 4, and quarantine cannot be discontinued earlier than completion of Day 5.
● A mask must be worn through day 10.
● HOUSEHOLD CLOSE CONTACT is defined as living or sleeping in the same home as a person who has tested positive -OR- using a kitchen or bathroom in shared accommodation with a person who has tested positive
● Quarantine is required for 10 days.
● Quarantine can END after Day 5 if a viral test is negative AND if no symptoms were reported during daily symptom monitoring.
● The test must be collected no sooner than Day 4, and quarantine cannot be discontinued earlier than completion of Day 5.
● A mask must be worn through day 10.
● If a close contact is fully vaccinated or has been infected with COVID-19 in the previous 90 days, they do not have to quarantine for any length of time.
● It is they wear a mask through Day 10. They MUST wear a mask through Day 5.
● DHEC recommends they get tested on Day 5 even if they do not have symptoms.
