At Coastal Dance Centre, our summer camps are all about creating special memories that will last a lifetime! Dive into a world of imagination and movement with our themed dance camps designed to ignite your child’s passion for dance and unleash their inner creativity!

The 4-day themed camps include a dance class, crafts, games, and a dance party.

Ages: 3-5 and 6-8 years old

Welcome to the enchanting world of our ‘CDC Dreamhouse,’ where dance meets imagination! Join us for an empowering summer camp filled with Barbie-inspired choreography, vibrant music, and unforgettable fun—let’s explore the magic of dance inspired by their favorite Barbie stories. Our daily Barbie free-play, dance classes, fun themed crafts and dance party on the final day (don’t forget to wear PINK!) will keep them engaged. Come on Barbies (and Kens), let’s go party!

Bring out your inner Pop Star at this super fun JAZZ dance camp! On the last day, dancers can dress up, sing and dance for a music video shoot that will be out of this world. Don’t miss your chance to walk the red carpet and be a star!

Imaginative adventures while we explore the Sand and Sea with our mermaid friends! Our campers are sure to have a splash of a dance adventure and will enjoy themed crafts and games!

Let’s twirl like a princess on a magical ballet journey! Each day we will go on enchanting adventures with all our favorite princesses, while using our creativity, personality, and of course BALLET! On the last day, dress up like your favorite princess for a special Princess Tea and a choreographed Princess Ballet dance, perfect for your tiny dancer!

Get ready to join the party in the “Mickey Mouse Clubhouse” with Mickey, Minnie, Donald, Daisy and the Toy Story gang at this epic Disney-themed dance camp! Kids will participate in a variety of fun activities including dance classes, themed crafts and musical games.

Step into a world of pure imagination with your golden ticket to the whimsical world of Willy Wonka. From candy-coated choreography to theatrical storytelling, dancers will unleash their creativity through music and dance. Fantastical, sweet-themed crafts and activities included!

Get your sparkles ready! Come explore the whimsical world of unicorns and rainbows as we dance Ballet, make new friends, and enjoy a true Unicorn experience! Your child will fall in love with our Unicorn-themed crafts, dance games, and Sparkle Unicorn Party on the last day of camp!

The tuition for each session is based upon the number of class hours in which a student is enrolled per week. It is highly encouraged to take more than an hour per week to take advantage of reduced tuition rates subsequently. The tuition rate per session stays the same regardless of attendance, school closures, or closures due to weather. Tuition is non-refundable, non-transferable, and not prorated for partial attendance. Annual tuition is payable in ten (10) monthly sessions. Students are not charged for the weeks the studio is closed for winter and spring break. These three weeks that there are no classes are omitted from the tuition calendar. Registration fee and tuition are due upon registration of each student. If a student registers in the last week of a session, payment will be due for the next monthly session as well. Classes missed are considered forfeited. Credit WILL NOT be given for classes missed due to illness, vacation, school closings, or acts of nature such as inclement weather.
There is a $48.00 registration fee and a $38.00 registration fee for each additional family member. “Family member’ meaning – living in the same household. Registration fees are non-refundable and non-transferable. Registration fee is due at the time of registration. This is valid from August 19, 2024 through the 2025 Summer Session. New students registering for Summer 2025 will be charged a fee of $25.

With more than 20 years of experience, Irene Rodríguez has been a Teacher, Rehearsal Teacher and Choreographer of Spanish Dance and Flamenco Style for prestigious dance institutions, including the National Ballet of Cuba, the National Ballet School and the National Spanish Dance School of Cuba. She has also been director of the Flamenco and Spanish Dance Program at the world-renowned School at the Jacob’s Pillow Dance Festival in the US and has taught many Master Classes internationally at Universities and renowned dance centers such as Juilliard School, Florida International University (FIU), University of South Florida (USF), West Valley College, University of the Arts of Cuba; among others.

In 2013 in Cuba, she created her own Professional Academy of Spanish and Flamenco Dance and a Vocational School of Dance directing, teaching and choreographing for the Academy including the organization of various Summer Programs and Master Classes. Because of the academic results the Academy was selected to be the representative of the *Escuela de Flamenco de Andalucía* in Cuba, which she directed for several years.

As a choreographer, she has won several international awards such as the First Prize in the VIII Ibero-American Choreography Contest CIC’ 2012; among others, having many works commissioned by Jacob’s Pillow Dance Festival and the Los Angeles Opera; among others. All of her works have been critically acclaimed and have received important and very positive international reviews from publications such as the New York Times and others.

Her work as a choreographer includes multiple titles performed by the Kansas City Ballet, the Spanish Ballet of Cuba, the Irene Rodríguez Company, the Next Generation Ballet, the National Academy of Spanish Dance, the National School of Ballet of Cuba, the Professional Academy of Spanish Dances and the National Company of Lyric Art of Cuba; among others.

HONORS / AWARDS:

2022- First Prize, Ensemble Category at the Youth America Grand Prix with the work “España” danced by the Next Generation ballet of the Straz Center for the Performing Arts.

2022- Outstanding Choreographer Award at the Youth America Grand Prix

2018- Order “Isabel La Católica”. Spain’s highest civilian honor (Cruz category). Said recognition is awarded in recognition of extraordinary conduct or civic virtue exemplified by Spanish peoples and foreigners, that benefit the Spanish Nation or those who contribute in a significant way to foster the friendship and cooperation of the Spanish Nation with the rest of the international community. Said title carries, moreover, the signatures of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and from the King of Spain himself.

2017- IBEROAMERICAN MEDAL given by the HONORIS CAUSA FUNDATION of the University of Guadalajara, México.

Intermediate and Advanced Intensive

RISING COASTAL DANCE CENTRE BALLET LEVELS 4 & UP

An excellent training ground for students, ages 11 to 18 years / Rising Coastal Dance Centre Ballet Intermediate Foundation, Intermediate, and Advanced ballet students.

The summer intensive program will focus on intensive classical ballet training and is designed to challenge and have our students improve in their skill level. Our goal is to have our dancers grow both technically and artistically as well as prepare for the upcoming dance year.

Through our guest master teachers, students will also be exposed to the Vaganova and Cuban technique. Students will work on the elements that will showcase their strengths, while addressing their weaknesses to build a well-rounded dancer for optimal performance quality.

The summer intensive schedule will include classes in Ballet Technique, Pointe, Variations, Repertoire, Partnering, Modern, and Stretch and Conditioning classes with COASTAL DANCE CENTRE’s resident faculty and distinguished guest master teachers.

The summer intensive weeks will give students, particularly those preparing to join the 20242025 Elite and Junior Conservatory Program, a chance to get a head start, learn variations and an ensemble (group) piece, and be observed for casting/roles in the CYBT “NUTCRACKER” 2024 production..
The Summer Intensive will take place and progress over a period of 3 weeks. Students can choose how many weeks of the program they would like to attend – 1week / 2 weeks / or 3 weeks.

COASTAL DANCE CENTRE recommends that students participate in all 3 weeks of the program to fully benefit from its progression in training. Students who participate in all 3 weeks will see the most improvement in their dancing, flexibility, and strength.

Young Dancers Intensive

FOR AGES 8-10 / RISING COASTAL DANCE CENTRE BALLET LEVELS 2 & 3 DANCERS

This introductory summer intensive experience is perfect for young students who have a passion for dance as well as those who are in the beginning years of formal ballet training.

The program will take place over 2 weeks. Parents can choose if they would like their children to attend:
either 2 weeks or 1 week. Students who participate in both weeks will see the most improvement in their dancing, flexibility, and strength.

Classes Offered:
Ballet Technique, Repertoire / Character, Stretch and Conditioning.

Level Placement for NEWstudents will be determined by the Coastal Dance Centre Directors / faculty. The student placement will ensure that we are able to maximize learning, improvement, and retention of material and to ensure that students benefit the most from the summer intensive and have the best learning experience.

The Junior Intensives for aspiring ballet students, ages 10-17 years, are an excellent precursor to Coastal Dance Centre’s Junior Conservatory and CYBT’s Performing Company Program. It focuses on the needs of motivated students with previous training. Coastal Dance Centre’s resident faculty will teach daily classes in Ballet Technique, Pointe Preparation / Pointe Fundamentals; Variations, Repertoire, Modern, and Stretch and Conditioning.

Level Placement for new students will be determined by the Coastal Dance Centre Directors/ faculty. The tuition for each session is based upon the number of class hours in which a student is enrolled for the 7-week Summer. It is highly encouraged to take more than an hour per week to take advantage of reduced tuition rates subsequently. The tuition rate per session stays the same regardless of attendance, school closures, or closures due to weather. Tuition is non-refundable, non-transferable, and not prorated for partial attendance. There are no Classes on the Fourth of July week, July 1 to July 6. Registration fee and tuition are due upon registration of each student. Classes missed are considered forfeited. Credit WILL NOT be given for classes missed due to illness, vacation, school closings, or acts of nature such as inclement weather.
Registration fees are non-refundable and non-transferable. Students registered since August 21, 2023 DO NOT need to pay the registration fee. New students registering for Summer 2024 will be charged a fee of $30.
