Our Pre-School classes incorporate dance, music, and mime through storytelling and locomotor movement, gradually introducing discipline with an emphasis on fun. As children progress to the Pre-Primary level, classes become more structured and technical. Coordination, listening, and socialization skills become more apparent as children mature.
Why should your child learn dance early?
● To experience the enjoyment of movement to music.
● To build self-confidence.
● To nurture and develop imagination.
● To improve fitness through activity and exercise.
● To establish new friendships while having fun learning.
What will your child learn in our pre-school dance classes?
● They will learn to follow instructions.
● They will gain a sense of discipline through learning with a group.
● They will learn co-ordination, balance, and how to control their bodies.
● They will become comfortable performing before groups.
New students ages 2 – 5 years old do not need to do a placement class.

The Coastal Dance Centre Conservatory Program is a comprehensive dance training and
performance experience and is carefully and progressively designed to take the student from the
earliest stages of intensive training for our students through to pre-professional dance training.
Conservatory Program students are provided with increased performance opportunities, master classes
with guest teachers, coaching and participation in elite competitions either as a solo or ensemble
competitor, as well as the opportunity to be part of the school’s performing company, Coastal Youth
Ballet Theatre.
Coastal Dance Centre RAD Ballet students in the Conservatory Dance Program are eligible to
participate in the Nutcracker production of Coastal Youth Ballet Theatre, Coastal Dance Centre’s official
performing company, by auditioning for roles that may be opened up for non-CYBT company members.
When auditioning, it must be noted that Elite Conservatory Program students/CYBT company members
will have priority over the non-CYBT company members with regards to casting for roles due to the fact
that Elite Conservatory Program students/CYBT company members are required and commit to longer
rehearsal times, which is a substantial commitment of time and energy.
