The Nutcracker: A Performance Opportunity for CDC Students

Coastal Dance Centre’s RAD Ballet students (from Pre–Primary Ballet, Primary, Ballet Levels 1-5; Intermediate Foundation through to Advanced level) who are not members of Coastal Youth Ballet Theatre, are invited to audition in order to participate as cast members of the annual full-length production of “The Nutcracker.”

This is a performance opportunity that allows CDC students to have an incredible, comprehensive theatre experience as part of a professionally-staged production. Students will learn choreography that integrates their role into the overall performance. The resulting concert is a cohesive production presented in a professional level stage setting with lighting, sets and costumes, and the dancers and guest artists of CDC’s performing company, Coastal Youth Ballet Theatre.

The tuition for each session is based upon the number of class hours in which a student is enrolled per week. It is highly encouraged to take more than an hour per week to take advantage of reduced tuition rates (per hour) subsequently. The tuition rate per session stays the same regardless of attendance, school closures, or closures due to weather. Tuition is non-refundable, non-transferable, and not prorated for partial attendance. Annual tuition is payable in ten (10) monthly sessions. Students are not charged for the weeks the studio is closed for winter and spring break. These three weeks that there are no classes are omitted from the tuition calendar. Registration fee and tuition are due upon registration of each student. If a student registers in the last week of a session, payment will be due for the next monthly session as well. Classes missed are considered forfeited. Credit WILL NOT be given for classes missed due to illness, vacation, school closings, or acts of nature such as inclement weather.
There is a $49.00 registration fee and a $39.00 registration fee for each additional family member. “Family member’ meaning – living in the same household. Registration fees are non-refundable and non-transferable. Registration fee is due at the time of registration. This is valid from August 19, 2024 through the 2025 Summer Session. New students registering for Summer 2025 will be charged a fee of $25.
