The Coastal Dance Centre Boys Scholarship Program is intended to make Ballet / Dance accessible to boys in the area. Boys accepted into this tuition-free program attend weekly technique classes in Ballet and supplemental dances (jazz, tap, lyrical, musical theater, hip hop or acro). The training program is also designed to enhance athletic skills, flexibility, and strength. Interested students are accepted by audition. No prior dance experience is required.

Program participants will have the opportunity to study dance year-round under the instruction of Coastal Dance Centre’s resident faculty as well as with guest faculty who will come to teach in Coastal Dance Centre’s summer program and in master classes throughout the school year.

Program participants will also have the opportunity to perform through Coastal Dance Centre’s performing company, the Coastal Youth Ballet Theatre, as well as take part in numerous community-based performances.

Several alumni from the Coastal Dance Centre’s Boys’ Scholarship Dance Program have been accepted into prestigious summer and year round dance training programs in the nation. These students from the program have been recognized for special achievements, including garnering significant honors in the Youth America Grand Prix (YAGP), the world’s largest international student ballet scholarship competition.
